About me
I'm a behavioural neuroscientist and more recently a counsellor. For over a decade my research has focused on the neuroscience of motherhood and the effects of maternal mental illness and antidepressant medications on the mother and offspring. One key theme that has come from my research experience is that effective treatment to maintain maternal mental health is necessary prior to conception, during pregnancy and well into parenthood.

Recently I have completed additional training to become a counsellor. My primary focus is to provide support and counselling for women struggling with their transition to pregnancy and motherhood, feelings about their medication use, and struggles with loss. I also provide support for others in need.

I am presently working towards my registered professional counsellor designation (RPC) with the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA) and abide by their ethics.

My approach
I am continually learning new approaches to therapy. Every person is unique and my goal is to work with you to find the best way to help you find solutions. I believe in the value of using evidence-based techniques but in a way that suits you.
